- Well, no rest for the dedicated actor! Only one month after wrapping on
"China Strike Force," Mark's already back to work again!
On Monday, the 13th of November, Mark began filming "The Perfect Husband," a feature,
based on the novel (same title) by Lisa Gardner, for American World Pictures.
Gustavo Graef-Marino ("Johnny 100
Pesos" and "Diplomatic Siege") is the director - he was born in Chile, and educated in
Germany.
The rest of the cast is comprised of: Kadeem Hardison ("Drive" and tv series "A Different World"), Missy
Cryder ("Powder" and tv series "The Others"), and Tim Abel ("The Base" and "Soldier of
Fortune"). You'll all be happy to learn that the fight coordinator is James Lew.
"The Perfect Husband" is shooting in Los Angeles, California.
- Some release dates to announce............
"China Strike Force" will premiere in Hong Kong the end of December 2000, and will have a general release in
Mainland China a few weeks later.
"Le Pacte des Loups" will premiere the end of January 2001, on Les Champs Elysées,
in Paris, France. The film is being released, in France, the 7th of February 2001. This is France's largest-ever budget ($40 million)
for a film shot entirely in the French language.
- Mark is back in China, finishing up "China Strike Force."
- Julie has a lovely role in "Beautiful," the movie starring
Minnie Driver, which opened around the United States on Friday, September 29 2000.
- Mark's currently back in the United States, tending to business, plus getting together with family and friends. He'll return
to China the end of September to finish up his scenes on "China Strike Force."
- As of July 2000, "The Crow: Stairway to Heaven" is being aired on The SCI FI
Channel, on Sundays, at 8:00PM ET.
- News from China!
This is just a bit of an update on Mark's current goings-on........
A month ago, Mark had off a few days from "Le Pacte des Loups," so
flew from Paris to Hong Kong, and then on to Shanghai, where he worked for three days on
"China Strike Force" (directed by Stanley Tong), which also
stars Aaron Kwok, Wang Lee Hom, Norika Fujiwara, and Coolio. In that period of time, he was trying to deal with
four languages (French, Mohawk, English, Mandarin), and says it was "kind of crazy."
Then he headed back to finish up filming on "Le Pacte des Loups."
And as soon as he wrapped, he took less than a weekend to fly home to Hawaii, and then straight back to China.
Now that he's working steadily on "China Strike Force" -
where he plays a not-so-good guy - a couple of times, he's been found in the make-up chair as early as 3:15AM. Most
of the shoot is taking place in Shanghai, and twice, so far, Mark's worked with as many as 300 extras!
He probably won't head back to the United States until October.
- There is extraordinarily marvelously stupendously wonderfully exciting and HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY news that
Julie and Mark wish to share with everyone: "Julie is carrying a 'Dragon Year Boy' in her belly," and
he's expected to make his grand entrance on January 8, 2001!!!!
- News from Paris!
The rumors are all basically true.........
Mark and his managers own the rights to the book "Mantis." They are in serious talks with major
studios to produce it.
Mark has been asked to look at his schedule to see if he would be available to star in an action picture to be
filmed in Hong Kong.
Mark is also in talks with Ed Pressman about the continuation of "The Crow" series.
- Mark wants everyone to know he's having a wonderful time in Paris, and is living in a centrally-located apartment, so he can
walk nearly everywhere. He runs along the river Seine every morning, right past the Louvre!
He recently attended the Cannes Film Festival to promote "Le Pacte des
Loups" -- which will open in France the end of October 2000.
This is ending up being a 20-week shoot. His workdays have, up until now, been six days each week. He's
already lived in seven different locations (south of France, central France, northern France), and they've
shot in 11 locations. After Paris, they'll all move on to London, where the final shooting will be
completed (wrap was originally scheduled for early- to mid-May).
While in Paris, his schedule is to be picked up for a 7:00AM call-time for his tattoos and make-up --
then he's picked up and driven one hour to location, where he has more make-up/hair done, and then starts
that day's shoot at 3:00PM. His hair has been shaved to above 1-1/2" above both his ears, and he has extensions, so his hair is VERY
long in the middle-back (almost like a long-haired Mohawk), and he has shaved eyebrows, so there's only a
straight line over the center of both eyes.
When he returns to the States, he'll spend time going through all his photos, and we'll then include
a bunch of them here.
- Julie's movie, "A Tail of Two Bunnies," is currently scheduled to air March 20th, on ABC, 8:00PM ET.
- Mark's film, "No Code of Conduct," will be airing on the 29th of February, on the USA Network.
Check your local listings for the time. "No Code of Conduct" was directed, in 1998, by
Bret Michaels. Along with Mark, the film also stars Charlie
Sheen, Martin Sheen, Meredith Salenger, Courtney Gains, and Paul Gleason. This is about two undercover cops who,
while trying to crack a Phoenix drug ring, battle smugglers and crooked officials.
- In November 1999, Mark went into a recording studio, sat down at the drums, and recorded one track for
Poison's new album! When we have information on the name of the track, the name of the album, the record label, and
the release date, we'll let you all know.
- Mark is currently in France, filming "Le Pacte des
Loups" which, in English, is "The Wolf Brothers." As Mark relays it:
"...the whole movie will be shot in French, which is why I have been going to private French classes for the
last two months. I had French in school back in Germany, but it has been many moons ago. I will be leaving for Paris
at the end of this month [January 2000]. We have two weeks of rehearsals before filming. I will be the only non-European actor on
the show. This movie will be one of France's biggest budget features of the year. Samuel Hadida produced
'Only the Strong' and
'Crying Freeman.' Christophe Gans directed
'Crying Freeman.'"

- The Fall 1999 Wang/Sakamoto/Dacascos project has been pushed to a later date.
- Julie Condra recently completed work as THE lead on an ABC
movie called "A Tail of Two Bunnies." As Julie puts it: "I play
the role of 'Ruby.' It's a neat story about two small-town best friends who move to Chicago to pursue their dreams,
only to be disillusioned by the big city when they find themselves living from paycheck to paycheck, and still
spending their nights hungry, in a tiny old apartment. Not seeing a way out of her factory sewing job - and on to
the runways with her clothing designs - Ruby convinces her friend Holly to join her in auditioning to be a bunny in
the famous Playboy Club. The rest of the story is fun... Holly takes the high road, and Ruby falls prey to all the
trappings of wealth, sex, and drugs!! But their friendship survives the rough times and their great successes.
It's a great friendship story."

- Mark is happy to announce that his guest-star role on the CBS drama "Martial
Law," is now almost definitely scheduled to air on October 9, 1999 (Saturday).
Mark says: "I play the lead bad guy and have two really fun fights with the
amazing Sammo Hung."

Sakamoto (choreographer of "Drive"), and Mark Dacascos are
now scheduled to work together on a project that will start sometime in October or November!

1998, and has received incredible responses from viewers. Mark

Heaven" currently airs on in North America.
- "No Code of Conduct,"
Mark's film with Charlie and Martin Sheen, was released in 1998. Mark plays Charlie's former
police partner, Paul DeLucca. Jake (Charlie) and Paul team up one more time and end up in the
middle of a drug bust gone bad.
- Mark's trip to the Himalayas, nearly three years ago, was unbelievable. Even
more than the high mountains and Mt. Everest, what most touched his soul was the
people. They were truly amazing! Five of Mark's fellow trekkers were
females in their late 40s. Not only were they sensitive, intelligent and
wonderful, but they were incredibly fit. The ladies were so strong and
spiritually centered to be able to do something like this. Mark sends his
thanks to Jackie, Sheila, Lisa, Ellen and Sharon (from Carmel, California),
for such a wonderful trip and for being so inspirational. He sends his special
congratulations to Jackie, who nearly sprinted past Mark at Kala Pattar, the
highest peak (18,450 feet) they climbed to. She almost seemed to RUN up the
mountain! This was not so much a vacation (because there were no modern
conveniences) as an adventure and monumental life experience that Mark will
always remember.
